TIMELY BOOST FOR BLUE EAGLES AHEAD OF FORSA CLASH.
Soy United have received a major boost ahead of tomorrow’s rescheduled National Super League clash against Fortune Sacco FC at the ASK Showground, Eldoret.
The Blue Eagles are strengthened by the return of experienced forward John Khanda, who has been sidelined for over five weeks after suffering an Achilles tendon injury during a warm-up session against Darajani Gogo in March. The striker has now been declared fit and is available for selection.
Goalkeeper Morgan Ambuka also makes his return after recovering from a thigh injury sustained in training earlier in March, and is back in contention for a place in the matchday squad.
Further reinforcements come in the form of winger Peter Okello, who missed the weekend trip to MCF FC due to illness, and midfielder Kevin Owidi, who was unavailable during the 1-1 draw in Machakos due to a family matter. Both players have now rejoined the squad however they will be missing the services of defender Jephtha Okiring who was stretched off last Saturday after picking an ankle strain.
Head coach Jeffers Odongo has welcomed the timely return of the quartet, noting their absence had impacted the team’s attacking edge.
“I am very pleased to have them back and fit with the group. We were somehow ineffective in recent matches, especially in attack, with John and Okello out. Their return is a major boost, same to Morgan and Owidi,” said the gaffer.
Looking ahead to the clash, Odongo anticipates a tough contest but remains optimistic of securing maximum points on home soil.
“I expect a competitive match. Fortune have been in good form, but we’ve also shown improvement in our last games. With the home advantage, I believe we can get all three points if everything goes as planned.”
The match will be played at ASK Showground, Eldoret, with kickoff set for 2:00 PM subject to weather conditions.
